BRITISH STANDARD BS EN ISO 15618-1:2016 National foreword This British Standard is the UK implementation of EN ISO 15618-1:2016. It supersedes BS EN IS0 15618-1:2002 which is withdrawn. During the development of EN ISO 15618-1:2016, the UK committee emphasized the need to consider the weldabilty of the material and the importance of welding to an approved welding procedure. The UK committee does not agree with this standard being published before ISO15614-9,Specificationandqualificationof weldingproceduresfor metallicmaterials-Weldingprocedure test-Part 9:Arcunderwater hyperbaric wet welding, has been developed. The UK committee expects EN ISO 15614-9 to take into account the weldabilityofmaterialswhenwetwelding.whenENISO15614-9 is published, it is recommended that all wet hyperbaric welding be procedure, as should all welder divers qualified to EN ISO 15618-1:2016. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical Committee WEE/36, Qualification of welding personnel and welding procedures.
